BIDS: Bond Information and Dissemination System

The Bond Information and Dissemination System (BIDS) was established in 1997 to enhance transparency of secondary market information. Bond Information and Dissemination System (BIDS) is a computerised and centralised database on ringgit debt securities, providing information on the terms of issues, prices of trades, details of trades done including transactions on repo activities and relevant news on the various debt securities issued by both the Government and the corporate sector. Financial institutions have the obligation to report into Bond Information and Dissemination System (BIDS) details of trade done within 10 minutes of execution while the rating agencies, on the other hand, are required to update the issuer's ratings. Selected information from Bond Information and Dissemination System (BIDS) is shared on a near real-time basis with major newswire services like Reuters and Bloomberg. Information from Bond Information and Dissemination System (BIDS) is also transmitted to the Islamic Interbank Money Market website for wider information dissemination.

Since 10th March 2008, BIDS was no longer in operations and was replaced with Electronic Trading Platform (ETP) which carries out electronic secondary market trading as well as reporting.
